Oh, all the new movies coming out this summer look fantastic! But it’ll be hard for them to beat the movie we just saw! Avengers II: Age of Ultron! The first Avengers film was excellent and MARVEL keep outdoing themselves so we knew this one was going to be a blast! Based very loosely on the comics, Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, accidentally created an artificial intelligence called Ultron. He had been working on AI for some time and Ultron was, at first, designed to protect the world so that it didn’t need saving by antiquated groups like The Avengers. Tony and his friend Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, spend a long time trying to get Ultron to work, and after they leave for a party, Tony’s automated assistant JARVIS (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) keeps working, and manages to inadvertently crack the code. After commanding the new AI to await Tony’s return, JARVIS is mercilessly killed (if that is what you call the ending of a mechanical consciousness) by the power-hungry Ultron. With only the base-coding of “Save and protect the world” Ultron does what any sensible newborn consciousness would do, he started to learn about the world. Ultron was able to learn more than any human about the world around him extremely quickly, by simply downloading the internet. Ultron concluded that there was only one thing that was a viable threat to the world he was told to protect: humans.

After learning about the world and deciding that humans needed to be exterminated, Ultron devised a plan to get him into a physical body and deal as much upfront damage to who he calculated would be his only rival, The Avengers. Ultron took control of Tony Starks automated defense fleet of Iron Man-like robots, and crashed an Avengers party, when they were at their weakest. After hitting The Avengers quite hard, Ultron makes off with one of the Infinity Stones, the stone hidden inside Lokis Scepter from the first movie. Ultron then proceeds to travel to southern Africa, where he attacks a Vibranium mine in an attempt to get the almost unbreakable substance to meld with organic matter in order to design his own superhuman body. In order to do this, Ultron recruits two mutants from a former Soviet Nation, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Pietro, better known as Quicksilver, is able to run at supersonic speeds, becoming a mere blur. Wanda, on the other hand, is able to telekinetically control any object of her choice, and is somehow able to conjure pure auras of energy, she is aptly nicknamed “The Scarlet Witch”. After Ultrons team invade the Vibranium mine and run off with the priceless mineral, easily defeating The Avengers in the process, they go to South Korea, where they will meet an incredibly smart doctor. Using the remarkable power of the infinity stone, Ultron is able to take control over her mind, and force her to do his bidding. She promptly discovers that Vibranium, as the most versatile Earthly substance in existence, can meld with organic tissue and he begins the manufacturing process for his own new, organic body.
